Santa Monica, CA (November 14th, 2023) A bicyclist was struck and injured by a vehicle at a 2-way stop in Santa Monica on Friday, November 10th, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. The accident took place at the intersection of Idaho and 19th.

A car was heading west on Idaho and, at the same time, a bicyclist was riding south on the 19th, according to authorities. The vehicle broadsided the bicycle, hitting it on the left side and knocking the rider to the ground. The driver of the vehicle that was involved, immediately pulled over and remained at the scene, waiting for police officers to arrive.

Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene to find the bicyclist injured, but with non-life-threatening injuries. They received some bruises and abrasions but were otherwise okay. Paramedics evaluated him at the scene.

Officers reported that the driver of the vehicle was not impaired in any way at the time of the collision, but the Santa Monica Police Department is investigating this accident to determine what happened. They stated that this particular intersection has had its share of collisions due to the fact that it is a 2-way stop and not a 4-way stop. Police officers hope to determine what caused this accident and who was at fault in this Santa Monica collision.
