Carlsbad, CA (September 12, 2024) A woman was tragically killed in a crash in Carlsbad on Tuesday, September 10. Her name was Karla Leyva. The 23-year-old had parked her car in the 2200 block of Las Palmas Drive late that night. At about 12:30 in the morning, an oncoming vehicle struck her. Authorities reported that Leyva was pronounced dead at the scene. Details are still sparse. His name was Aaron Anderson Jackson Jr. The 50-year-old Compton resident was the passenger in a Nissan driven by a 50-year-old Los Angeles woman on August 4. The incident occurred at about 2:44 p.m. as two young men, one 18 and one 19, were riding a jet ski together on the lake. Another jet ski rider suddenly slammed into them, leaving both with injuries.
