Sadly, 45-year-old Manuel Rivera lost his life in the accident. It happened on Mojave Drive, not far from Village Drive, at approximately 6:23 p.m., according to reports.
Manuel Rivera was riding a bicycle along Mojave Drive in Victorville on Saturday, November 2nd. Around 6:23 p.m., a GMC Sierra pickup truck came down the road. For reasons that are still unknown, the bicycle slammed into the pickup truck. Rivera was thrown from the bike and landed, hard, on the ground. The driver of the pickup truck immediate stopped and waited for emergency personnel to arrive at the scene.
When officers arrived, they found Rivera on the ground with critical injuries. Paramedics rushed Rivera to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment for life-threatening injuries. However, after arriving at the hospital, Rivera’s injuries proved too several and he succumbed to them, according to reports. With heavy hearts, 45-year-old Manuel Rivera was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers questioned the driver of the pickup truck and gathered evidence at the scene. They are determined to understand what exactly caused this accident in Victorville, as well as who was responsible.
