Atwater, CA (July 29, 2024) A two-vehicle collision occurred in the town of Atwater on Monday morning, July 29th. The traffic accident happened just after 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of North Southern Pacific Avenue and North Buhach Road. At least one person was injured in this collision, according to reports.
The Monday morning commute became more stressful than usual for a couple of motorists in Atwater on July 29th. For reasons that remain unknown, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at the intersection of North Southern Pacific Avenue and North Buhach Road at approximately 8:11 a.m. The impact caused both vehicles to come to a stop in the middle of intersection, blocking traffic during the morning commute.
Cal-Fire Mariposa sent paramedics to the scene and the California Highway Control arrived to help with traffic issues at the four-way stop. Officers directed traffic away from the scene and paramedics began searching for anyone in need of medical attention. They found at least one person with injuries, however it is unknown how many were injured or how extensive those injuries were.

Officers gathered evidence and took statements from those at the scene. They are working to determine not only what happened at this Atwater intersection, but also who was responsible. Both of the vehicles involved sustained major damage in the crash. Officers had to call tow trucks to come to the scene and remove both of the vehicles. Once the investigation was complete, crews got to work cleaning up the debris and glass that the crash had left behind.
