Las Vegas, NV (July 12, 2024) A tragic accident occurred this morning between a motorcycle and a semi-truck. It happened in the southwest valley of Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that the accident happened on Sunset Road and Jones Boulevard.
At about 5:40 a.m., for unknown reasons, the motorcycle and the semi-truck collided. LVMPD received word of the crash and responded to the scene, where they found the motorcyclist with critical injuries. Tragically, emergency crews pronounced them dead at the scene.
Update: On July 15, the victim was identified as 50-year-old Demetrius Davidson.
At the time of writing, it’s not clear if the driver of the semi-truck sustained any injuries. However, we do know that they remained on the scene and cooperated with the police investigation, which is ongoing.
Reports say that authorities do not suspect that impairment was involved in this accident.
