Woodland Hills, CA (June 20, 2024) An early morning accident claimed one person’s life in Woodland Hills on Wednesday, June 19th. 32-year-old Dustin Perdomo was fatally injured in this multi-vehicle collision that occurred just before 4:00 a.m. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on the Ventura 101 Freeway, not far from the Canoga Avenue off-ramp.
The sun had yet to rise over Woodland Hills at 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday as vehicles headed along the 101 Freeway. For reasons that are still unknown, a multi-vehicle collision took place in the westbound lanes of the Ventura 101 Freeway at approximately 3:52 a.m. The world was still blanketed in darkness this early in the morning, and the drivers relied on street lights and their headlights to illuminate their way.

The California Highway Patrol received the 911 call and arrived at the scene to find several damaged vehicles blocking the westbound lanes of the freeway. Officers had to close all westbound lanes and issued a SigAlert, according to reports. Paramedics arrived at the scene and hurried to the wrecked vehicles, ready to give medical care to anyone in need. Unfortunately, they found Perdomo unresponsive and knew there was nothing they could do. Sadly, they pronounced 32-year-old Dustin Perdomo dead at the scene and waited for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner to arrive at the scene.
Officers wasted no time investigating the scene following this deadly collision. They are determined to understand not only what caused this fatal collision on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills, but who was responsible for this accident. They requested tow trucks to come to the scene and remove the wreckage that was left behind. Crews began cleaning up the glass and debris from the scene as quickly as they could. Officers reported that one of the westbound lanes was reopened around 5:30 a.m.
