Apple Valley, CA (May 26,2024) The town of Apple Valley experienced a tragedy on Saturday morning when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle around 10:30 a.m. The collision happened at the intersection of Blackfoot Road and Standing Rock Avenue, according to reports. Emergency crews tried to save the motorcyclist following the accident, but sadly, he did not survive the collision.
It was a sunny Saturday morning in Apple Valley as motorists headed through the town. For reasons still unknown a Honda Civic and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Blackfood Road and Standing Rock Avenue. Upon impact, the motorcyclist was ejected from his ride and landed hard on the pavement. The driver of the Honda lost control following the initial collision and ended up crashing through a fence. The motorcycle was left scratched and smashed, with a bent front wheel.The Honda Civic was left with major passenger side damage, according to reports. The impact was so strong that the airbags inside the Honda deployed.
The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department as well as the Apple Valley Fire Protection District arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground, motionless. Paramedics rushed to the motorcyclist’s side and began life-saving measures, but they were too late and nothing could be done. The motorcyclist had been killed in the collision and, with heavy hearts, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene and called for a coroner.
Officers had to call a tow truck to come to the scene and haul away both the motorcycle and the Honda Civic. They were both loaded onto the flatbed of the same truck and removed from the scene after officers concluded their investigation. Crews had to clean debris from the area as well. Officers continue to work this accident to try and determine what caused this fatal collision and who was at fault.
