Valley Glen, CA (May 13, 2024) Chaos ensued on Saturday evening when a two-vehicle collision caused one of the cars to crash into a building. The accident was caused by a DUI driver and resulted in the other driver being hospitalized with serious injuries. The DUI driver was arrested, reports indicated and the World Tobacco Smoke Shop sustained significant damage.

A drunk driver got behind the wheel of a vehicle on Saturday evening, May 11th, and caused a bit of excitement in the Valley Glen area. On the 6400 block of N. Wilkinson Avenue, the DUI driver hit another vehicle before crashing into the side of the World Tobacco Smoke Shop. Not only was the business left with a huge hole, and structural damage, but the other driver who was hit sustained serious injuries in the collision.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department quickly arrived at the scene and found one vehicle inside the damaged business and the other vehicle was sitting on the road with major damage. The Los Angeles Fire Department also arrived at the scene and hurried to help anyone who had been injured. They found one of the victims with serious injuries, according to reports. They were rushed to a local hospital by ambulance to receive treatment.

Authorities asked the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety to come to the scene and check the building to make sure it was still structurally sound. They deemed that it was safe for people to be inside the building, however the owners will now have to pay to have it all repaired. The driver responsible for this collision was arrested at the scene for suspected DUI.
