Burbank, CA (May 9, 2024) A traumatic collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle left the town of Burbank grieving as the tragic news spread. Christopher Torres, 23, from San Fernando, passed away at a hospital following the accident, according to reports. It happened just after 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Beachwood Drive and Olive Avenue. In an instant, lives were changed forever.

Darkness filled sky over Burbank as motorists headed to and from destinations on Wednesday night, May 8th. Torres was riding a motorcycle through the streets of Burbank, as street lights flashed from above him as he passed beneath them. At approximately 10:10 p.m., Torres entered the intersection of Beachwood Drive and Olive Avenue. A sedan also entered the intersection at the same time and the two vehicles collided. The force ejected Torres from his motorcycle, causing him to land, hard, on the roadway and roll, before coming to a stop. The motorcycle fell over and slid across the road until it stopped, busted and damaged, a few feet from Torres.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and told the police officers everything they knew. Paramedics rushed to Torres and found that he was alive but suffered from life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment, but unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he later died. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, reports indicated.

Officers at the scene began gathering evidence and determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in this accident. However, they believe that speed may have been a factor. They continue to investigate and are determined to put all of the pieces together. The motorcycle was hauled from the scene and will be taken in as evidence.
