Las Vegas, CA (January 31, 2024) An 11-year-old boy lies in a hospital bed, fighting for his life, following a terrifying accident on Tuesday, January 30th, in southwest Las Vegas. Rayan Kim was riding an electric bicycle on the sidewalk, when he was struck by a pickup truck making a right turn. It happened at the intersection of Cliff Lake Street and Cactus Avenue, according to authorities.
Police officers reported that Kim was riding his electric bicycle on the south sidewalk of Cactus Avenue, heading to school, around 7:47 a.m. At the same time, a pickup came to a complete stop at the stop sign, but then, as they turned, the pickup went up onto the sidewalk and ran over 11-year-old Kim.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene and found Kim on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed the boy to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment.

Officers questioned the driver of the pickup, but reported that they did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is leading the investigation into this accident to determine exactly what happened.
