Long Beach, CA (January 10, 2024) A pedestrian, identified as 43-year-old Alecia McCullough, was struck and killed on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said. The accident occurred on Sunday, January 7th, just after 8:00 p.m., near Cherry Avenue.
The Long Beach Police Department along with the Long Beach Fire Department responded to the call of a pedestrian versus vehicle accident on the Pacific Coast Highway. Paramedics arrived and found McCullough lying, unresponsive, in the roadway. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and waited for police officers to arrive at the scene. They cooperated with authorities and officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved. The driver told police officers that he was driving west and hit McCullough, who was not walking within a designated crosswalk.
