Palmdale, CA (January 9, 2024) A pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing the street in Palmdale on Monday, January 7th, authorities said. The accident took place at the intersection of 90th Street and East Avenue Q10 at approximately 7:22 p.m.

Officer Sean Lough with the California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was hit by a Mini Cooper as they attempted to cross the street. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian lying in the intersection with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed to give medical aid and the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital. Sadly, they succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating this fatal accident and they hope to determine what caused it. Information on the driver of the Mini Cooper or any potential charges have not been released at this time.
