Winchester, CA (September 6, 2023) A crash involving 4 vehicles left at least 1 person dead in Winchester on Wednesday morning. California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on Leon Road and Domenigoni Parkway.
It took place in the eastbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway around 11:40 a.m., according to CHP dispatch. The collision involved a white Dodge SUV, a white BMW, a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup, and a big rig. Reports stated that at least one of the vehicles also collided with a fire hydrant and knocked down a light pole that fell onto the roadway. The fire hydrant was spewing water at least 80 feet into the air after the collision.

Paramedics from CAL Fire/Riverside County Fire arrived at the scene quickly and began helping everyone who was involved. Authorities said at least 1 person died at the scene and it is still unknown how many others were injured in this crash.
Tow trucks were called to remove damaged vehicles from the scene, and crews dealt with the fire hydrant as well as the knocked down light pole. The accident is being investigated, as it is still unknown what caused it or who was at fault.
