Visalia, CA (August 9, 2023) It was around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday when a car crashed into a home in a Visalia neighborhood. Police say the crash happened on Houston Avenue and Cain Street.
The driver was traveling at a high speed on Houston Avenue when they missed a turn onto Cain Street and instead lost control and slammed into a house. Officers at the scene believe the driver was intoxicated. No one was in the home at the time of the collision, but the house suffered significant damage and the car broke a gas main as well as the meter.
Crews had to shut off the gas and the driver of the vehicle was injured and sent to a local hospital. The driver is now facing DUI charges.
