(San Diego, CA) A 25-year-old man crashed his Yamaha scooter in La Jolla and was shortly involved in a hit-and-run in La Jolla.
San Diego Police Department officers responded at 9:06 p.m. Friday to the 3200 block of Torrey Pines Road, where they found the victim of the sport scooter.
The victim rode a 2023 Yamaha XMAX sport scooter in the northbound No.1 lane of Torrey Pines where he collided with a concrete jersey barrier, said SGT. Clint Leisz of the San Diego Police Department.
Thrown from his scooter, the victim landed in the southbound No. 2 Lane. Moments later, an unidentified driver struck the 25-year-old man in a hit-and-run incident in La Jolla. The driver fled the scene, according to police.
The 25-year-old rider died at the scene from his injuries by the time San Diego Police Department officers arrived.
