ORO GRANDE, CA (JULY 19, 2023): California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision on National Trails highway in Oro Grande, California. Authorities report early Tuesday morning at around 7:15 a.m., a large front loader including a backhoe released from a semi-truck and landed on a car. The struck vehicle continued on before colliding with a tree, injuring one and killing another.

First-responders from the Victorville Fire Department arrived to the scene shortly after, requesting airship for a woman in critical condition. The male passenger of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
