(Jurupa Valley, CA) Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon, April 22, in a 60 Freeway crash involving a semi-truck and multiple vehicles.
The collision occurred around 3:33 p.m. on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway near Valley Way. Investigators said a tractor-trailer, several sedans, and a pickup truck were involved in the crash in the middle lanes. The semi-truck became disabled, blocking several lanes and contributing to widespread disruption.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after 4 p.m. and found all occupants out of their vehicles. Three individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to Riverside Community Hospital in stable condition. Authorities did not release their identities.
The crash prompted a SigAlert and forced the closure of all westbound lanes for more than 90 minutes. Traffic backed up significantly through the different freeway interchange. Crews cleared the wreckage and treated roadway hazards before reopening all lanes around 5:10 p.m. Officials said the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
