Hemet, CA (September 27, 2024) A mother pushed her young child in a stroller near Ramona Elementary School in Hemet on Thursday, September 26th, 2024.  A hit-and-run driver struck them both at the intersection of Salt Circle and Yale Street, around 7:45 a.m., according to reports. Both victims were injured in the accident.

The streets were busy as parents dropped off their children at Ramona Elementary School in Hemet on Thursday morning. Around 7:45, a mother was pushing a young child in a stroller and began crossing the street at the intersection of Salt Circle and Yale Street. As she crossed, a vehicle struck them both and then continued driving until they were out of sight.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the woman and child with non-life-threatening injuries. They were both transported to a hospital in the area to receive medical attention, officers reported. Witnesses told authorities that the vehicle was a light-colored pickup truck. Investigators are working diligently to find the suspect vehicle, and bring the driver to justice.
