Monterey County, CA (July 17, 2024)
A sad collision occurred on Saturday, July 13 on Highway 1 at Soberanes Canyon Trail. A 25-year-old woman from Seaside was driving a Ford F-150 northbound when a pedestrian crossed into the lane from the westbound shoulder.
California Highway Patrol reported that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. She was an 80-year-old woman from outside the state. Further details about her identity have not been revealed at this time.
The driver and her passenger did not sustain injuries in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors.
