(Los Angeles, CA) On Wednesday, October 1, at about 10:10 p.m., the Vermont Avenue hit-and-run near the University of Southern California left a pedestrian injured as officials worked to secure the scene and determine what led to the crash.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred when a dark-colored sedan struck a pedestrian at a marked crosswalk at Vermont Avenue and 36th Street. The driver drove off without stopping to help. when paramedics arrived, they transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Doctors treated them for their unspecified injuries.

Upon investigation, authorities gathered surveillance footage, sharing it with the public on social media to help generate tips. The City of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification of the driver.
