San Diego, CA (June 21, 2024) A horrible pedestrian accident occurred in the Skyline neighborhood of San Diego on Thursday evening. The pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries following the accident and is still clinging to life, according to reports. It all happened on S. Meadowbrook Drive, just after 8:30 p.m., when a Lexus hit a pedestrian.
A 20-year-old man was driving a 2005 Lexus IS350 through the Skyline neighborhood, heading north, on Thursday evening. At approximately 8:34 p.m., at 100 S. Meadowbrook Drive, the driver saw a pedestrian in the road. He had no time to stop or swerve and ended up hitting the pedestrian, reports indicated. The force threw the pedestrian several feet before gravity pulled the victim down to the ground, with a hard and painful landing.

The San Diego Police Department responded to the call and arrived at the scene to find the pedestrian on the ground. Officers Jose Perales with the SDPD reported that the victim was still alive but had sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision. Paramedics quickly began life-saving measures and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive emergency treatment. Reports indicated that the pedestrian remains in critical condition with head trauma, as well as trauma to their body.
The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and worked with police officers during their investigation. Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this accident and they are working to understand exactly what happened that evening.
