Los Angeles, CA (October 30, 2023) A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday morning while walking on the Hollywood 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol stated that the accident was reported around 5:30 a.m.
It happened on the southbound side of the Hollywood 101 Freeway at Santa Monica Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert and then had to extend it for another hour. The Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp was even shut down following the accident. Authorities said a Tesla truck accidentally hit the pedestrian. The driver then pulled the pickup truck over to the off-ramp and waited for police officers to arrive.

The Los Angeles Fire Department hurried to the scene where they, unfortunately, found the pedestrian deceased. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer closed the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the Hollywood 101 Freeway so they could conduct an investigation into what exactly took place and who was at fault.
