Barstow, CA (November 14, 2023) A pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle at East Yermo Road and 3rd Street, near Barstow. The California Highway Patrol stated that the collision occurred just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11th.
A red Dodge Ram pickup truck was driving at the Yermo intersection near Barstow when, for reasons unknown, the pickup struck the pedestrian. Calls came in and the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office as well as CAL Fire paramedics arrived at the scene. The pedestrian was found lying in the road, but was still alive, according to reports. Sadly, though, they later died at the scene.

The pickup that was involved had struck the pedestrian with such force that it caused significant damage to the vehicle. A tow truck was called to come and remove the pickup from the intersection.
Authorities aren’t exactly sure what happened at the intersection of East Yerma Road and 3rd Street in Barstow on Veteran’s Day. They are currently still investigating the accident to try and determine what caused the pickup to hit the pedestrian.
The pedestrian’s identity has not been released and is pending notification to the deceased relatives.
