Long Beach, CA (August 28, 2023) A pedestrian was killed after being struck by more than one vehicle on the 405 Freeway early Monday morning. The California Highway Patrol said it all began as a traffic collision in Long Beach.

The excitement started with a white sedan and a black sedan around 12:05 a.m. on the southbound San Diego Freeway, north of Pacific Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness told City News Service that this initial crash caused a change reaction.
For unknown reasons, a man exited one of the vehicles on the freeway. He was then hit by several cars until his body landed on the northbound side of the freeway. Emergency personnel arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
