SAN DIEGO, CA (JULY 14, 2023): A pedestrian is reported to be suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck in the University City neighborhood in San Diego. According to authorities, the man was crossing the street from the east curb to the west curb on 8500 Genesee Ave at 1:24 a.m. early Thursday morning when an unknown red Kia, traveling southbound, struck him. The motorist fled the scene.

The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where his condition is severe. There was no immediate description of the driver as his identity remains unknown. San Diego Traffic authorities continue to investigate the accident.
