Valley Center, CA (April 11, 2024) 27-year-old Manuel Alberto Leon Camacho was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Valley Center on Wednesday morning, April 10th. It happened just after 7:00 a.m. on Cool Valley Road, near Terrace View, in San Diego County. Tragically, Camacho was killed in the collision, according to reports.
It was an early morning in Valley Center as a pedestrian walked along Cool Valley Road. As they walked a blue and gold Toyota Camry or Corolla headed down the road as well. In the 14500 block of Cool Valley Road, the vehicle hit the pedestrian. The driver did not stop to give aid or to even call for help. They hit the gas and drove away, leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries in the middle of the road.
The California Highway Patrol hurried to the scene and found Manuel Alberto Leon Camacho lying on the ground. They ran to give life-saving measures, but the 27-year-old had already succumbed to their injuries. Officers pronounced him dead at the scene and called for the coroner. The injuries sustained by Camacho were evidence that they had been hit by a vehicle, but the vehicle was long gone.
Investigators are on the lookout for a vehicle that matches the suspect vehicle’s description. They are determined to find the vehicle and, in turn, locate the driver and bring him or her to justice.
