    Pedestrian Killed In Fairfield, Willie Weaver Arrest for DUI

    Fairfield, CA (August 31, 2023) A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed on Wednesday night by what appears to have been an impaired driver. The Fairfield Police Department said the collision happened around 10:45 p.m.

    It happened at Clay Street and Travis Boulevard when a man on a motor scooter was hit by a 2001 Honda Accord. Fairfield Police said that the man on the scooter was crossing Travis Boulevard when he was struck. He sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

    60-year-old Willie Weaver of Fairfield, was driving the Honda. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was booked on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
