Sacramento, CA (July 28, 2023) A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car early Friday morning on southbound Highway 99, at the Mack Road West off-ramp.

The pedestrian was hit around 2:52 a.m. The driver, a 22-year-old male, stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. They believe the pedestrian may have been homeless.
This accident is still under investigation but California Highway Patrol doesn’t believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor.
