Mira Mesa, CA (October 18, 2023) A pedestrian was struck and injured on Wednesday when a car hit a bus stop in Mira Mesa, according to the San Diego Police Department. The accident occurred just before noon on Mira Mesa Boulevard, near Camino Ruiz.

A white sports car was heading down eastbound Mira Mesa Boulevard when, for reasons unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and swerved onto the sidewalk. It crashed into a bus stop, leaving one pedestrian seriously injured. NBC San Diego had footage from SkyRanger 7 that showed the damaged bus stop with the car on top of half the sidewalk. The bus stop, located in front of Pho Ca Dao Restaurant, sustained serious damage as well.
At least 6 police cars arrived at the scene, blocking the eastbound lanes of Mira Mesa Boulevard. Paramedics transported the injured person to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in serious condition.
Authorities are investigating this accident to determine what happened.
