Escondido, CA (April 24, 2024) A crazy accident took place at a gas station in Escondido on Tuesday, April 23rd. A collision between two vehicles on East Valley Parkway sent one vehicle crashing into a gas pump at a Mobil gas station. A man had just finished pumping gas and was hit by the vehicle, officers reported.

A red Ford Explorer, driven by Juan Morales, was headed west on East Valley Parkway. A white Chevrolet van was traveling in the second westbound lane and began changing lanes. The van hit the Ford Explorer, causing Morales to lose control. He veered off the road and drove into the Mobil gas station parking lot, where he slammed into a gas pump.

A man had just finished pumping gas when Morales’ vehicle came barreling through the parking lot. The Ford crashed into one of the gas pumps, hitting the man in the process. The victim became pinned under Morales’ vehicle, officers reported.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the victim under the Ford Explorer. Firefighters worked to free the pedestrian from under the vehicle. Paramedics loaded the victim into an ambulance and took them to Palomar Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, reports indicated.

The driver of the white van was found trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used special tools to free them, as well.

Morales had sustained miner to moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to Palomar Medical Center, along with the driver of the van. All three people involved are expected to make a full recovery, reports indicated.

Officers spoke to witnesses, as well as those involved, but reported that no one has been cited for this collision. Crews had to clean debris and glass from the roadway and tow trucks were called to remove all three vehicles involved in this gas station accident.
