Willowbrook, Los Angeles, CA (October 21 2024) Just after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Willowbrook. It happened at the intersection of 123rd Street and Central Avenue.
A pedestrian walked through the Willowbrok area of Los Angeles on Sunday evening around 9:00 p.m. As they approached the intersection of 123rd Street and Central Avenue, a vehicle approached. For reasons that remain unknown, the vehicle struck the pedestrian at approximately 9:03 p.m. The impact sent the pedestrian to the ground with so much force that they remained, motionless, until police officers arrived.
The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene and found the victim on the ground. They were prepared to begin life-saving measures, but found that the pedestrian had been killed in the accident. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are working the scene in an effort to understand what exactly happened at that Willowbrook intersection. They had to close the intersection for a while, encouraging drivers to take alternate routes. Reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers during their investigation.
Update: The victim has been identified as Heriberto Quezada, 38.
