Indio, CA (December 12, 2023) A vehicle struck 54-year-old Alfonso Andrade’s life in Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on Grapefruit Boulevard in Riverside County just after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7th.
It happened in the 54000 block of Grapefruit Boulevard when a vehicle hit Andrade, a Thermal resident, who was already lying on the ground. The driver of the vehicle said they noticed the taillights of the vehicle who had initially hit Andrade driving away in the distance.

Officers responded to the scene, along with paramedics, but Alfonso Andrade was, sadly, killed in this collision on Grapefruit Boulevard. The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner was called to the scene, authorities reported.
The driver of the second vehicle that struck Andrade remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The California Highway Patrol is heading the investigation into this fatal pedestrian accident that took Andrade’s life. They hope to determine what kind of vehicle struck him and then locate the driver and bring him or her to justice.
