Antelope, CA (September 20, 2023) A teen boy was killed on Tuesday night after he was struck by a vehicle in Antelope, California, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Don Julio Boulevard.

Nathan Gebreamlak, age 14, was riding a scooter on the sidewalk of Don Julio Boulevard in Antelope. The California Highway Patrol said that the teenager left the sidewalk and entered the road directly in front of a 2014 Range Rover, for reasons unknown. The Range Rover was headed through the intersection of Don Julio Boulevard and Poker Lane when it struck the boy.
Authorities said that emergency crews were called and Gebreamlak was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He died sometime later at the hospital from injuries he sustained in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol does not believe drugs and alcohol were a factor in this accident.
