(Los Angeles, CA) A New Hampshire Avenue DUI crash killed Nadir Gavarrete, 9, in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles.
On Thursday, July 31, at 7:30 p.m., the New Hampshire Avenue DUI crash occurred. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, it happened in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Fourth Street.
When Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters responded to the crash site, they learned the driver of an RV drove southbound on New Hampshire. All of a sudden, when they tried to make a left turn onto Fourth, they collided into Nadir Gavarrete and his 19-year-old brother.
By the time paramedics arrived, they transported both brothers to a hospital for further treatment. First responders pronounced Gavarrete dead as a result of the New Hampshire Avenue DUI crash. Medical staff reported the 19-year-old brother to be in stable condition. The driver of the RV was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Nadir Navarrete’s family set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses as well as medical bills for his brother.
