At approximately 2:15 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of Reno Street and Beverly Boulevard where they found a person who had been struck by a vehicle. Suddenly, the pickup hit the man as he walked and knocked him to the ground. The driver of the pickup didn’t stop, but instead hit the gas and fled the scene.
The Rampart Division of the Los Angeles Police Department received calls about gunshots in the area and hurried to the scene. However, upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim had been struck by a vehicle and not shot. Officers wonder if the vehicle had backfired, causing people to think it was gun shots. The Lost Angeles Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene and they rushed the man to a nearby hospital for treatment.
