Fontana, CA (November 9, 2023) – A man tragically lost their life on Thursday, November 9th, due to a fatal pedestrian accident on Cherry Avenue in Fontana, California. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) dispatch, the accident was first reported around 7:31 a.m. at the intersection with Merrill Avenue.
CHP reports indicate that the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle in the center lane of Cherry Avenue. The 911 caller stated that a “male appears to have been run over”. When officers arrived on scene they reported a big rig truck stopped in the same lane as the victim, assumed to be the vehicle that struck the man.
Paramedics were quickly dispatched to assist the injured man. But he was too severely injured in the accident and was, unfortunately, pronounced dead at the scene.
