Hollywood, CA (August 19, 2024) Tragedy struck Hollywood on Friday evening when 27-year-old Leyda Medina was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver, while going for a run. The 27-year-old victim was struck at approximately 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Beck Avenue and Victory Boulevard. The driver then fled the scene, according to reports.

Medina headed out for a run on Friday evening, August 16th, in North Hollywood. She was running in the crosswalk at Beck Avenue and Victory Boulevard, when a Toyota Corolla approached. Without warning, the vehicle struck Medina, throwing her several feet. The driver then sped away, leaving the runner lying on the ground.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found Medina on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics immediately rushed her to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment. The staff did everything they could to save her, but her injuries were too extensive. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
