TULARE, CA (NOVEMBER 15, 2023): 41-year-old Julia Martinez was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking in the Tulare area last week.
Tulare authorities state the incident occurred on Friday, November 10th near Inyo Avenue and I Street around 6: 30 p.m. Police received reports of a pedestrian accident in the area, and arrived on scene shortly after.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered Martinez in critical condition. They quickly administered first-aid and then rushed her to an area hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and died later at the facility.
Martinez leave behind four children, aged 16, 12, 7, and 5.
Camilla Garcia, one of Martinez’s best friends, expressed that “It’s just a shock and it breaks my heart because she has all her kids and the two oldest I know personally, and I love them so much.”
The vehicle initially fled the scene upon striking Martinez, but eventually returned. He was identified as 46-year-old Felix Octavio Brambila Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was arrested and now faces felony charges.
Police state drugs or alcohol were not factors in this collision. They continue to prosecute Gonzalez for the responsibility in the death of Julia Martinez.
