Carlsbad, CA (December 15, 2023) 42-year-old Joshua Paul Weber was arrested for a Carlsbad hit-and-run that left a 15-year-old girl seriously injured, according to the Carlsbad Police Department. The hit-and-run accident happened on Tuesday, December 12th, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
It happened at the intersection of Highland Drive and Chestnut Avenue, just east of Interstate 5. Weber hit the 15-year-old pedestrian and drove away, leaving the area and leaving her injured on the ground, Sgt. Travis Anderson said.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the girl to a local hospital for treatment for serious injuries. Officers investigated the scene for evidence, however, they did not disclose how they discovered that Weber was the driver of the vehicle involved.
Weber was arrested in San Diego around 12:45 p.m. He was booked into the Vista County Jail and is being held on $50,000 bail, pending arraignment.
