On Wednesday, July 30, at about 10:50 p.m., the Bristol Street DUI crash occurred. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, it happened on the intersection of Bristol Street and Segerstrom Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a collision between a vehicle and John Valenzuela Luera of Santa Ana. Luera walked in the traffic lanes on Bristol Street. All of a sudden, a vehicle driving down the street struck him.

Paramedics arrived shortly to administer life-saving measures before transporting him to a local hospital. By the time he arrived, Luera died from his injuries. The driver of the Bristol Street DUI crash remained and cooperated with the investigation. Ultimately, authorities arrested the driver for driving under the influence.
