Overview on the East Drexel Road Crash
In fatal pedestrian hit-and-run cases, investigators examine several Arizona traffic laws to determine cause and responsibility. The Hit-and-Run Statute requires any driver involved in an accident resulting in injury or death to stop immediately, provide information, and render aid. Fleeing the scene of a fatal crash is a felony offense under Arizona law.
The Pedestrian Roadway Law governs pedestrian crossings outside of crosswalks, requiring individuals to yield to vehicles when crossing mid-block. However, even in these cases, drivers must exercise caution.
Additionally, the Basic Speed Law requires motorists to operate their vehicles at speeds that are reasonable and prudent for conditions, particularly at night or in residential areas. These laws will help detectives determine what led to the East Drexel Road crash and establish liability once the suspect is located.
