(West Rancho Dominguez, CA) A pedestrian was killed Friday evening, October 24, in an East 139th Street collision near Compton, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP officers were called around 7:23 p.m. to East 139th Street and Avalon Boulevard. Initial reports indicate that a white sedan had struck a person in the roadway, said CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.
When Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The person’s name, age, and gender have not yet been released.
