Whittier, CA (August 19, 2024) A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Whittier on Friday, August 16.
At about 10:24 p.m., California Highway Patrol responded to Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway. There, they found the pedestrian who had been struck by a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Daniel Cortez, 29, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene from blunt trauma.
CHP is still investigating. The circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been detailed in reports.
