    6-Year-Year Old Guadalupe Alvarez Salgado Killed, Woman Seriously Injured In Pomona

    Pomona, CA (May 29, 2024) Sadness drifted through the community of Pomona on Tuesday night as word spread of a pedestrian accident that claimed a child’s life. 6-year-old Pomona resident, Guadalupe Alvarez Salgado, sadly, did not survive the collision. The devastating collision also left a woman with serious injuries, according to the Pomona Police Department. The accident happened just after 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Towne Avenue.

    It was Tuesday evening in Pomona, California as a 19-year-old woman and 6-year-old Salgado walked through town. For reasons that are still unknown, the two were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Towne Avenue, mere minutes after 8:00 p.m. Both victims were thrown from the force of impact and landed in the middle of the intersection, according to reports. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive at the scene.

    The Los Angeles County Fire Department as well as the Pomona Police Department arrived at the scene within minutes. They found the two victims lying on the roadway and hurried to their sides, only to find that Salgado was unresponsive. Emergency personnel did everything they could to try and save the girl, but she had succumbed to her injuries. With heavy hearts, they pronounced Guadalupe Alvarez Salgado dead at the scene and covered her with a tarp.

    The woman was still alive but had sustained serious injuries in the accident. Paramedics placed her on a stretcher and quickly loaded her into an ambulance. She was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition, according to reports.
