Escondido, CA (June 17, 2024) The world can be a dangerous and unpredictable place. Patrons at a Starbucks in Escondido were reminded of this when a vehicle crashed into a Starbucks on Saturday, June 15th. Four people inside the Starbucks were injured in the collision, reports indicated. The chaotic accident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on W Lincoln Avenue.

People were inside the Starbucks at 121 W Lincoln Avenue in Escondido on Saturday, drinking coffee, when the driver of a vehicle lost control on the street outside. The vehicle went off the road and slammed into the Starbucks, according to reports. Once the dust cleared, and people began to realize what had just transpired, someone called 911.

Officers with the Escondido Police Department arrived at the scene within minutes, and found the vehicle inside the Starbucks. They hurried inside to see if anyone had been injured and found four people in need of medical attention. Two of them, both elderly, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Paramedics at the scene carefully loaded the two victims into an ambulance and rushed them to a local hospital for treatment. Two others were injured, but sustained only minor injuries in the collision. They were treated at the scene by paramedics, officers reported.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the collision, officers said. The Escondido Police Department’s Traffic Unit is leading the investigation into this collision in Escondido. They are working to determine what caused the driver of the vehicle to lose control and crash into this Starbucks on W Lincoln Avenue. The car had to be removed from the scene and crews got to work cleaning up the debris that was left behind.
