Walnut Creek, CA (June 14, 2024) In a terrible series of events, a 33-year-old man seriously injured two women in Walnut Creek, CA.

The incident happened early in the morning on June 2. At about 5:15 a.m., vendors from the weekly Walnut Creek Farmer’s Market were setting up their stations. The farmer’s market is located on Locust Street, right between Lacassie and Cole Avenue.

It should have been just like any other day. Instead, as vendors were getting everything ready for the market, a man suddenly plowed his car through them. He did not stop. He continued driving for another mile, and police saw him trying to get on Interstate 680 when they caught up to him close to Lawrence Avenue.

Two women were seriously injured by the driver. As of the most recent reports, they are still in critical condition. The team at Walnut Creek Farmer’s Market posted a GoFundMe on social media for the two victims, who are part of Lemongrass Farms. The post states that while their farm is in Fresno, the family is staying local to Walnut Creek to be with their injured loved ones.

Reports say the suspect has been charged with two felony counts of driving under the influence causing injury, as well as felony hit-and-run causing injury. He is also being charged with driving without a valid license. Apparently, he has had a DUI offense prior to this.
