Fullerton, CA (June 13, 2024) In a horrific incident, a motorcyclist from Anaheim was struck by a car, and their bike was dragged underneath a vehicle for hundreds of feet until somebody came to help. This occurred in the evening on Wednesday, June 12 in Orange County. Tragically, the victim did not survive. His name was Alexander Marce, and he was only 28 years old.
Around 9:45 p.m., authorities responded to the scene in Fullerton. They discovered that the motorcyclist was travelling north on Gilbert Street before the accident. A man going eastbound on Orangethorpe Avenue hit Marce, sending him into the air. The culprit then dragged the Harley Davidson bike underneath his car, a BMW sedan, for several hundred feet. The victim was knocked off the bike upon impact.

When police arrived at the scene, Marce was pronounced dead. Prior to this, somebody (or multiple people) stepped in to help stop the car from dragging the bike any further, but it’s not yet known who that was. Details say bystanders kept the driver at the scene while authorities were on their way.
The driver, 44-year-old Francisco Garcia-Vargas, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and driving without a license.
In extremely sad photos of the aftermath of the crime, Marce’s helmet can be seen sitting on the road right in front of the car’s bumper. You can also see the bike laying horizontally in front of the car with its headlight still on, almost as though it’s attached to the vehicle. The front of the car is smashed where it hit the bike.
