Antelope Valley, CA (June 15, 2024) Tragedy struck the Lake Hughes area of Antelope Valley on Friday night as news spread of a motorcycle accident that claimed a life. The fatal collision occurred when a motorcycle was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Elizabeth Lake Road and Trail E. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place just minutes after 11:00 p.m.

Initial reports indicated that a man was riding a motorcycle in the Lake Hughes area of Antelope Valley when they were struck by another vehicle in an intersection. The collision also knocked over an electricity pole, according to reports. The force from the collision threw the rider from his motorcycle, causing him to land hard on the ground, several feet away. The motorcycle was dented and damaged following the accident. It lay on the ground, not too far from its rider.

The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene. Officers Erik Larsen stated that they arrived to find the motorcyclist on the ground, unresponsive. Paramedics at the scene did everything they could to try and save the man, but sadly, his injuries were too severe. Officer Larsen later told City News Service that they pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene and called for a coroner. The driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities following the accident.

Officers at the scene began gathering evidence and taking statements. The motorcycle had to be hauled from the scene and debris was quickly picked up so traffic could resume. Officers are working to determine what caused this deadly motorcycle accident in Antelope Valley. They are also intent on discovering who was at fault for this fatal collision.
