Reno, NV (April 3, 2024) Tragedy struck a Reno, Nevada intersection on Tuesday evening when a motorcyclist lost their life. The fatal accident occurred when the motorcycle and another vehicle collided at the intersection of Taylor Street and Holcomb Avenue.
A motorcyclist was riding along Holcomb Avenue just before 8:00 p.m. on April 2nd. An SUV was driving on Taylor Street when he made a turn onto Holcomb right at 8:00 p.m. As the SUV made its turn, it collided with the motorcycle, officers said. Initial investigations indicated that the motorcyclist might have been speeding at the time of the accident. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and landed, hard, on the roadway. The motorcycle slid several feet before coming to a stop, its body badly damaged.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the SUV stopped at the scene, its driver ready to cooperate with authorities. The motorcyclist was motionless on the ground as paramedics ran to give aid. Unfortunately, the rider had been killed in the collision and nothing could be done. With heavy hearts, emergency personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene and waited for the coroner to arrive. The motorcycle had to be hauled from the scene and crews worked to clean up the debris that was on the road.
The driver off the SUV was uninjured and remained at the scene, along with several witnesses, to assist the detectives with their investigation.
