San Diego, CA (August 23, 2023) A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after colliding with an SUV on Tuesday afternoon in San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department. Authorities told City News Service that the collision occurred around 1:55 p.m. at the 13900 block of San Pasqual Road.

A 26-year-old motorcyclist was riding a BMW S1000 motorcycle north on San Pasqual Road. At the same time, a Toyota RAV-4, driven by a 46-year-old man, was traveling south when the motorcyclist crossed the double yellow divider lines and hit the Toyota, according to Officer David O’Brien.
The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries to internal organs and his left leg in the collision. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Why the motorcyclist crossed into oncoming traffic is unknown. The department’s traffic division is investigating this collision.
